Brenda A. Baxter, 65, of Troy, died in Troy Regional Medical Center August 5, 2009.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, August 9 at 2:30 p.m. at Carroll Street Cemetary with Rev. George Gilchrist Jr. officiating. Visitation will be at Carroll Street Cemetary Saturday, August 8 from noon to 6 p.m.
Baxter was born February 20, 1944 in Troy to parents Dixie Lee Stringer and Charles Jones. She gradutated from Academy Street High School in 1961 and was a retired nurse.
She was a member of First Missionary Baptist Church and a Sunday school teacher.
She is survived by: daughter and son-law Jannique and Cleveland Lee; grandson, Stevien M. Baxter; brother, James Douglas Smith, of Boston; aunt, Ruby H. Sims; god sisters, Katherine Wingard, Wilma May, Dorothy Dix and Ann McMillon; cousins, Beverly Wardell, Mari Nobles and Willie King; and devoted friend Diane G. Smith and a God-given host of friends and other family.
