Football season is almost here, and with Troy beginning practice Sunday, many Trojan football fans are turning their attention to the upcoming season and plans for attending games.

While this year’s game days will feature a new version of the Troy Trojans, certain things will remain unchanged.

Despite rumors to the contrary, there will be no changes in how game day parking for Troy University football games will be handled.

Parking will still be open for parking in all lots on campus.

“There have been no changes,” said Associate Athletic Director Sandy Atkins. “Our policies are still the same and our procedures are still the same.”

There had been speculation that parking for RVs would be moved from their current location at the parking lot located between University Avenue and Collegedale Street, but that will not be the case.

“The RV parking has not been moved,” Atkins said.

Troy Athletic Director Steve Dennis confirmed that plans for parking have not been altered.

“Nothing has changed,” Dennis said. “The RV people are going to be right where they’ve always been.”

As usual, fans will be expected to use common sense when parking. Parking on sidewalks, streets and grassy areas is still frowned upon, but those appear to be the only parking taboos, as no new restrictions have been added.

There will also be no reserved parking.

“The RV guys are still there and everybody else will be first-come, first-serve like they’ve always been,” Dennis said. “Nothing’s changed.”

Fans can park just as they always have, beginning with Troy’s home opener against UAB on September 19.
