Mrs. Edith Jinright Grimes, age 89, of Troy, AL. died Friday, July 17, 2009, at Flowers Hospital in Dothan, Alabama. Funeral services for Edith Jinright Grimes was held at 2:00 p.m. on Monday, July 20, 2009, at Skeen Funeral Home Chapel in Troy with Rev. Frank Lowery officiating. Mrs.Grimes lay in state at the funeral home from 1-2 p.m. one hour prior to the service.
A graveside service for Edith Jinright Grimes will be held at 2:00 p.m. Tuesday, July 21, 2009, at Eastern Gate Memorial Gardens in Pensacola, Florida with Skeen Funeral Home of Troy directing.
Mrs. Grimes was born July 1, 1920, in Upatoi, Georgia. She was a homemaker in her own home.
Edith Jinright Grimes was preceded in death by her parents, Stoney and Florence Pope Sizemore, her 1st husband, Walter Alonza Jinright, Sr., son, Walter Alonza Jinright, Jr., and a son-in-law, Jerry Martin.
Survivors include her husband: John Oree Grimes, Troy, AL; son and daughter-in-law: James and Donna Stokes Jinright, Navarre, Florida; 2 daughters and son-in-law: Ann and Pat Palmer, Pensacola, Florida; Brenda Martin, Berryville, Arkansas; step daughter and husband: Lynn And Kenneth Hudgens, Glenwood, Alabama; grandchildren and spouses: Neil (Carol) Martin, Tonya Martin, Tippi (Greg) Hoelscher, Patrick (Anna) Palmer, Cindy (Abraham) Ugarte, Kim Jinright, Walt (Lisa) Jinright, Holly Jinright, Steven Jinright and Zach Hudgens; 1 sister: Ellen Griffin, Troy, AL; 16 great grandchildren, 1 great-great grandchild, and many, many nieces and nephews and many that thought they were her child also.
