The Troy Amateur Baseball League is looking for a few good baseball players and registration is underway.

TABL league coordinator James Henderson said Troy’s amateur league could be a possible avenue to bigger and better things.

“Our guys get a shot to be scouted and move on up to the next level,” Henderson said. “I have been doing this a few years and there have been several guys who have played in A ball and some that have made it to AA and further.”

Henderson has been a coach or administrator for 15 years with the league. Henderson said there are 9-10 players per team and the league is trying to round up about four teams.

The league is registering and is shooting to start up July 12.

The games for the league will be on Thursdays and Sundays and each team will play on both days.

“We want to get people to come out and register,” Henderson said. “We just want all the baseball-minded people who want to try out their skills on a team to come out and enjoy the league.”

Registration fee for the league is $45 per player and the games could start as early as July 12.
