Man charged with robbery, assault

Troy Police arrested Thursday a Brundidge man on an outstanding warrant who allegedly robbed a local residence at gunpoint in February.

Calvin Emmanuel Wheeler, a 21-year-old black male, was taken into custody Thursday after warrants were served, said Troy Police Chief Anthony Everage.

Everage said Wheeler is alleged to have entered a residence with another unknown suspect and demand money from occupants at gunpoint in February of this year.

“Both victims were assaulted in the incident,” Everage said.

Police obtained warrants for his arrest, and he now faces charges of robbery first degree and assault second degree.

The warrants were served at the Troy Police Department, and he was later transferred to the Pike County Jail.

The case remains under investigation by the Troy Police Department.
