Walls makes MLB splash on day two

Troy University Trojan pitcher Jason Walls was drafted by the San Francisco Giants in the 19th round of the Major League Baseball First-Year Player Draft Wednesday.

Troy’s own Hunter Baggett, Chase Hartley, Rush Hixon and Austin Ingram combined with the rest of Team Bama to move into the Sweet 16 of the Cooperstown Dreams Park 102-team single elimination tournament with a 6-4 win over Bullets Baseball Gold Wednesday.

Baggett pitched the final four innings of the game.

Team Bama also beat the Windward Rangers 12-3 Wednesday and Baggett had two RBIs.
