The Darlings league Hot Rods of the Troy Parks and Recreation Department competed in a League Team Tournament in Enterprise May 16 and brought home the second place trophy.

The Hot Rods got off to a good start by defeating the Geneva Panthers 14-10 in their first game.

In the second round, they faced a second team from Geneva – the Bumble Bees – and came up just short by a score of 17-16.

The loss moved the Hot Rods to the losers’ bracket, where they faced the Ozark Riptide.

A 17-12 victory advanced the Hot Rods to the championship game, setting up a rematch with the Geneva Bumble Bees.

However, before the game started, heavy rains forced suspension of the tournament until the next day.

Upon arrival in Enterprise on Sunday afternoon, more thunderstorms prevented further play.

As a result, the Geneva Bumble Bees, having not lost a game in the double-elimination format, were awarded first place, with the Troy Hot Rods being awarded the second place trophy.
