The Confederate Cavalry Corps MC is sponsoring the second Annual Festival of Miracles, a motorcycle event that benefits Bill Nichols Veterans Home in Alexander City, Saturday, May 16.

“Last year’s Festival of Miracles was a great success, and we’re expecting another big event this year,” said Jacob Fannin, Confederate Cavalry Corps member.

“We want to invite all bikers in the Troy and Pike County area to join us for this event that honors and supports our veterans at Bill Nichols. There are close to 200 of them and all of the money that we raise with the bike benefit goes into a special account and the veterans, themselves, decide how it is to be spent. They can use it for things they need or want to do and that means a lot to them. They’ve done a lot for us and we should do something for them.”

Donations to the Festival of Miracles are $15 for each rider and $5 for an extra person on the motorcycle.

The bikers will meet at Bill Nichols Veterans’ Home in Alexander City between the hours of 9 a.m. and 3 p.m.

“It’s up to each participant to get to Bill Nichols,” Fannin said.

“They ride up in groups if they want to get together or come by themselves. We just want everybody to come and enjoy the day.”

The day’s activities will include music, a silent auction, door prizes, free food to the first 100 participants at the site and other activities.

“We’ll also have a 50-50 drawing with half of the pot going to the winner and the other half to the veterans at Bill Nichols,” Fannin said.

There will be a guided ride at 3 p.m. to Indian Hills Motorcycle Resort at Rockford for an evening of fun and entertainment.

“Indian Hills is a resort designed especially for bikers,” Fannin said.

“It’s a great place, and we’ll have a lot of fun just being together and the ride there is great. They have rooms and cabins to rent so those who want to stay overnight and make a weekend of it are encouraged to do so.”

Fannin said the Confederate Cavalry Corps MC is the premier heritage motorcycle club in the country and is a strong support of America’s veterans.

The benefit for the Bill Nichols Veterans Home is just one way they show appreciation to those who have served.
