A man has been arrested on substantial drug charges after Troy Police allegedly found him in possession of cocaine, ecstasy and marijuana in his hotel room at the Days Inn.

Eric Cortez Fulpher, 21, of Troy, was found with drugs around 11:30 p.m. Friday in his hotel room when Troy Police were notified of a potential narcotics incident, said Troy Police Chief Anthony Everage.

When officers searched the room, they found what appeared to be cocaine, in a clear plastic bag.

A search warrant was obtained, and officers collected two bags of a white powder substance, one bag of plant material, compressed material, several pills, digital scales, a 9-millimeter semi-automatic pistol and $2,730 in cash.

Officers also recovered a receipt registered to Fulpher’s name for the room.

The compressed material tested positive for cocaine, the plant material for marijuana and the pills for ecstasy. The street value of the drugs was about $15,000, Everage said.

Fulpher has been charged with trafficking cocaine, unlawful possession of controlled substance (ecstacy) and unlawful possession of marijuana first degree.

In performing a records check, officers also discovered Fulpher had an outstanding warrant in Lake County, Fla. for two counts of carrying a concealed firearm, one count of using a firearm while impaired and one count of discharging a firearm in public.

Fulpher was transported to the Troy City Jail and then taken to the Pike County Jail, where he remains on bond of $50,000 for the trafficking charge, $7,500 for ecstasy charge and $2,500 for the marijuana charge.

The incident remains under investigation by the Troy Police Department.
