The Troy Symphony Orchestra Spring Concert will be at 3 p.m. Sunday, May 3, at the Claudia Crosby Theater on the campus of Troy University. Admission is free and the public is invited.

Ginger Zingara, Troy University School of Music, said the Spring Concert will feature movie and television tunes that may not be known by title but will be quickly recognized.

“The Troy Symphony Orchestra Spring Concert will highlight two soloists, Anthony Sanderson, piano, and Lori Galemore, horn,” Zingara said. “Anthony and Lori are the winners of the Phi Mu Alpha/Troy Symphony Orchestra Concerto Competition.”

Zingara said Troy University students audition before a panel and the winners were awarded a cash prize from Phi Mu Alpha.

Tunes that will be especially familiar are “Hall of the Mountain King” from Peer Gynt Suite No. 1, “Hungarian March” from the Damnation of Faust and “Finale” from New World Symphony.

“The Spring Concert is about an hour in length and offers music for the entire family,” Zingara said. “We invite everyone to join us Sunday afternoon for the Troy Symphony Orchestra Spring Concert.”
