Maurine Armstrong “Rena” Herndon
Mrs. Maurine Armstrong “Rena” Herndon age 85 of Abbeville, Al died Saturday April 25, 2009 at the Troy Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Funeral services will be held Tuesday, April 28, 2009 at 11:00 am from the Calvary Baptist Church in Abbeville, AL where she was a charter member, with Reverend Otis Derrah and Dr. Bob Pemberton officiating. Burial will follow in the Abbeville Memorial East Cemetery with Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing.
Visitation will be held one hour prior to the service at the church.
She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law Pat and Marvin Dillard of Troy, son and daughter-in-law Len and Catherine Herndon of Destin, FL., grandchildren Maricia and Warren Taylor, Caroline and Jay Buskar, Marv and Kim Dillard, and Hugh and Mary Herndon, 10 great grandchildren, sister Jean Culpepper, 3 brothers and a sister-in-law Harold and Florence Armstrong, Robert “Babe” Armstrong, and Lowell Armstrong, several nieces, nephews, great nieces and great nephews.
Her nephews will serve as active pallbearers.
She was preceded in death by her husband Hugh Herndon and a sister Eudine Mathison.
