The Troy Trojans softball team is back at home this week. The Trojans take on the Northwestern State Demons Wednesday in a doubleheader.

“This will be a great opportunity for us to get some mid-week games at home,” Trojans head coach Melanie Davis said. “We need our fans to come and help us wake our bats back up, and get our offense and defense back on track as we head into Louisiana-Lafayette next weekend.”

The Trojans (30-14) enter the double-header on a five game losing streak. The Trojans lost two games against Florida State before the weekend sweep from North Texas.

Davis hopes the mid-week series can help get the Trojans back on a winning note before more conference play.

“We’re not really solid in any of the three phases of the game right now,” Davis said. “We’re going to work on offense, defense and pitching. We’re just going to try to get the confidence back. We’re still the same team that was leading the league and taking care of business a few weeks ago, and we’re going to try to get back on that track.”

Northwestern State (4-31) enters the double-header on a five game losing streak as well.

Game times for Wednesday’s double-header are at 4 and 6 p.m.

The Trojans were scheduled to play Florida State on Tuesday afternoon, but the game has been canceled. The Trojans and Seminoles played the game in the double-header last week, but both teams will have the option to play again should another non-conference rain-out occur for either team.
