W. Ray Helms, age 75, a resident of Brundidge, died Saturday, April 11, 2009. Funeral services will be held Monday, April 13, 2009 at 11 a.m. from the Brundidge UnitedMethodist Church with the Rev. Michael Lawler officiating and assisted by Rev. Wayne Helms. Interment will follow in Lakeview Cemetery with Dillard Funeral Home of Brundidge directing. Visitation will be held Sunday, April 12 from 5 p.m. until 7 p.m. at Dillard Funeral Home in Brundidge.
Mr. Helms is survived by his wife, Nellie Sue Ryals Helms of Brundidge; children, Susan Helms Harper and husband Jimmie of Montgomery, Alan Helms and wife Renee of Shreveport, La., Glen Helms and wife Kelly of Birmingham; six grandchildren, Lee Harper, Kayla Harper, Kenneth Helms, Allison Helms, Trey Helms and Josh Helms; one sister Mary Helms Adams of Brundidge, two brothers, Rev. Wayne Helms of Cedartown, Ga. and Dr. Billy Helms of Tuscaloosa and may loved nieces and nephews.
