PLAS JV baseball splits vs. Glenwood

The Pike Liberal Arts JV baseball team (11-5) handed the Glenwood Gators their first loss of the season Monday night in game one of a doubleheader, 8-6.

Lawson Stewart pitched a complete game for the win on the mound and Nick McLaughlin went 2-for-3 with three RBIs at the plate.

Robert Benton had a double and one RBI and Gregory Barnette had one hit.

In game two McLaughlin was hit with the loss on the mound, but had a two-run home run at the plate.

Josh Starling, Barnette, Tatum Barnes and Jake Watkins each had one hit in game two.

TPRD fastpitch softball tournament

The Troy Parks and Recreation Department will be hosting the 2009 Troy Sportsplex Spring Fling April 25-26.

The tournament is a girls’ fastpitch softball tournament.

There is no entry fee and is available for ages 8U, 10U, 12U, 14U and 16U.
