Trojans drop, Pats stay put

A 2-2 record in the previous week pushed the Charles Henderson Trojans from No. 3 to No. 4 in the latest Alabama Sports Writers Association AHSAA Class 5A poll released today.

The Pike Liberal Arts Patriots remained the No. 3 team in the AISA poll after a 1-0 week.

The Trojans took two a pair of 4-0 games from region rival Eufaula Friday, but lost 5-2 to 6A Prattville and 8-6 to then Class 5A No. 5 Pleasant Grove on Saturday.

The Patriots destroyed region foe Hooper 16-4 Monday in their only game since the last poll.

Both the Trojans and the Patriots will be busy in the upcoming week.

Charles Henderson squares off with Carroll today on the road and Friday in a doubleheader in Troy.

They host Bibb County and Pelham Saturday.

Pike Liberal hosts region foe Glenwood today. They take on Lakeside at home Monday and travel to Greenville for another region matchup against Fort Dale Tuesday.

Both teams will look to capitalize on the second half of the season.
