Dr. Stanley Gordon Pritchett age 56 of Troy died Friday, March 27, 2009 at the Luverne Health and Rehabilitation Center.
Funeral Services will be held Sunday, March 29, 2009 at 4:00 p.m. from the First Baptist Church of Troy with Reverend Andy Hepburn and Dr. Luke Lane officiating. Burial will follow in the Macedonia Cemetery with Dillard Funeral Home of Troy Directing.
Visitation will be held Sunday from 2:00 until 4:00 at the Church.
He is survived by his wife Vicki Dianne Gaines Pritchett of Troy, a daughter Kelly Dianne Pritchett of Troy, a son and daughter-in-law Joshua Joseph and Jessica Pritchett of Dothan, grandchildren, Lilah Grace Pritchett, Lainey Brooke Pritchett and Payton Joseph Pritchett, his parents Joe Gordon and Dean Pritchett of Union Springs, sisters and brothers-in-law Barbara and Johnny Witherington, Debbie and Don Kreis, and numerous, aunts, uncles, cousins, nieces and nephews.
Active pallbearers will be Mike Rotton, Larry Lee Underwood, Johnny Adams, Billy Rotton, Jo Frank Rotton, Jim Chance, Ned McCall, and Wayne Hubbard.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons of the Macedonia Baptist Church and the Hillcrest Baptist Church in Pensacola.
Dr. Pritchett was born in Troy on July 4, 1952, he graduated from Bullock County High School in 1970, received a Bachelor’s degree in History with a minor in Psychology from Troy State University in 1974, Masters of Divinity from the Southwestern Baptist Theological Seminary in 1978, Doctor of Ministry from the Reformed Theological Seminary in 1994.
In May of 1970 he was licensed by the Macedonia Baptist Church and Ordained in 1972. He served as a pastor for the Macedonia Baptist Church in Union Springs, AL, White Water Baptist in Elba, AL., Fairview Baptist in Rhome, TX, North Shore Baptist in Peabody, Mass., Greenwood Baptist in Weatherford, TX, Leighton Baptist in Leighton, AL, Hillcrest Baptist in Pensacola, FL, and served as interim pastor at many other churches.
In lieu of flowers memorials may be made to the Macedonia Baptist Church.
