The three, who have been in the restaurant business for years, said they had wanted to open a restaurant together for sometime, but had been unable to locate a building to house the restaurant.

But when the building came open, the trio jumped at the chance and opened about three weeks later.

The restaurant is conveniently located on Highway 93 in Brundidge across from Green’s Antiques.

Heart of Dixie Country Kitchen is open Monday through Friday 11 a.m. to 2 p.m. with a $6.99 lunch special, and customers can also order menu items.

On Friday nights, the restaurant is open 5 to 8:30 p.m., and customers can order their favorite entrees from the menu.

For those who enjoy the all-you-can-eat buffet style setting, the restaurant offers this option with their Sunday lunch starting at 10 a.m. and ending at 2 p.m.

While the restaurant has only been open for about two weeks, it already has developed a gathering of loyal customers, but is also seeing new ones.

The owners remain quite optimistic and say sales are increasing daily.

“We’ve seen a steady increase in sales,” Linda said.

The restaurant is also available for catering large or small venues.
