Charles Henderson’s Trojans got off to a good start in area play with a 12-5 victory over Eufaula on the road Tuesday night.

The Class 5A No. 3 Trojans (15-5, 1-0 AHSAA Class 5A, Area 3) jumped out to an early 4-0 lead in the first two innings and never looked back for the win.

“It is always important to get that first area win in the first game because these are the ones that count,” CHHS head coach Derek Irons said. “We told the guys before the game that we needed to get off to a good start and that is what we did. We did a good job in the first two innings and we kept our focus and drive throughout the whole game.”
