After much discussion over what to do with the old TDS telecom building, which the town of Goshen received as a donation, it is still in the works.

According to Goshen Mayor Jack Waller, the discussion was tabled in order for the council to speak with attorneys.

Waller said the council discussed selling the building, but there were specific legal issues involved with selling the property they needed to seek legal advice.

The council also received a $6,500- grant to construct a walking trail.

“We have to form a committee and meet all the requirements,” Waller said.

“It will probably go up around the softball field.”

As for a timeframe, Waller said the plans have to be in around the middle of April.

The industrial board renewed some of the members and added a new one to replace Cora McMaster.

Michael Sanders will replace McMaster.

In other business, Waller said the council voted to adopt some new business practices, including a new system to protect water customers from identity theft.

“We had to vote to go under that plan,” Waller said.

The new practice includes turning off computers and using code names to get into the computer.

They council also voted in put up more speed limit signs in residential areas, with the posted speed limit being 25 mph.
