Justin Preckajlo laced a single down the left field line to score David Eldredge for the winning run in the bottom of the 12th inning in Jacksonville, Fla., as the North Florida Ospreys took out the Troy Trojans 10-9 Wednesday night.

The win gave the Ospreys a split of the mid-week series with Troy. Troy had scored eight runs in the final four innings of regulation to push the games to extra innings and scored the go-ahead run in the top of the 12th, but North Florida plated two in the bottom of the inning to end the game.

North Florida scored the first six runs in the game with two runs in the second, two in the third, one in the fourth and one in the fifth before Troy got on the board in the sixth inning and cut the lead to 6-2.

North Florida opened the scoring when Brian Wilson reached on a single and scored when TJ Thompson walked with the bases loaded. Michael Smith later scored on a fielder’s choice for the 2-0 lead.

Preckajlo scored on a sacrifice fly in the second and Sam Perry scored when TJ Thompson was walked with the bases loaded again.

Smith scored on a single by Andrew Karmeris in the fourth inning for the Ospreys and Preckajlo scored on a balk in the fifth.

The bats came to life in the sixth for Troy, as Chad Watson scored on a double by Michael Precise and Precise scored on an error to cut the Osprey lead to 6-2.

Troy scored three in the seventh to cut the lead to 6-5 when Steven Felix, J.R. Myers and Watson all scored.

The Ospreys added one in the seventh and one in the eighth before Troy scored three in the top of the ninth and one in the top of the 12th before North Florida won it in the bottom of the 12th.

Robby Loew was hit with the loss for Troy and Myers led the Trojans, going 4-for-7 at the plate with one RBI and two runs scored. Precise was 2-for-4 with three RBIs.
