If Troy residents see airplanes flying over the city Tuesday, they need not be alarmed.

As part of mapping for the city, a photographer will shoot photos of the city from an airplane.

“It’s part of the GPS maps we’re doing,” said Troy Mayor Jimmy Lunsford. “It will ensure we have recorded every power pole and sewer hole in the city.”

Lunsford said this is something routine the city does, and it will be beneficial in the long run.

In preparation, city employees have painted white outlines to sewer holes on the streets.
