Robert (Bob) Bruce Bassett, Age 55, a resident of Troy, Ala. died Wednesday morning, Feb. 25, 2009, in an automobile accident. He is survived by his daughter, Hilary Bassett of Troy, his mother, Eleanor Bassett of Troy, brother, Fred Bassett, of Montgomery, his sister and brother-in-law, Judy and Robert Cary of Troy, two nieces, Jennifer Bassett of Boise, Idaho, and Susan Windley of Kingstowne, Va., his special friend, Anne Givens and a number of other relatives.
He is also survived by a multitude of close friends.
He was preceded in death by an infant brother, Mickie Bassett, his father, Ewell Bassett, and his sister, Carol Bassett.
A memorial service will be held at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy, at 1 p.m. on Friday, Feb. 27, 2009 with Dr. Ellis Bush officiating.
Visitation will be held Thursday, Feb. 26, 2009 from 5-7 p.m. at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy.
Family, friends, sports, music, and work were important to Bob.
He enjoyed his career with Whaley Construction Company. In Lieu of flowers the family requests that memorials be made to the Arthritis Foundation
