Mr. Zollie Alvin Pouncey, age 87 of Troy died Friday, February 20, 2009 at his home.
Funeral services will be held Sunday, February 22, 2009 at 2:00 pm from the Southside Baptist Church with the Reverend Bo Weed officiating. Burial will follow in Green Hills Memorial Park with Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing.
Visitation will be held Saturday, February 21, 2009 from 5:00 pm until 7:00 pm at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy.
There will also be a one hour lie-in-state at the church prior to the service.
He is survived by his wife Exa Dykes Pouncey of Troy, daughter Carolyn Grayson and her fiancée Sean Kelley of Trinity, 2 sons and daughters-in-law Zollie Alvin “Al” and Karen Pouncey Jr. of Montgomery, David Randall and Tina Pouncey of Cantonment, FL., sister Edna Williford of Columbia, Tenn., brother and sister-in-law Gerald and Elaine Pouncey of Opelika, sister-in-law Myra Pouncey of Glenwood, grandchildren Mallory and Stephen Hester, Terry and Sherry Pouncey, Sherri and Jonathan Dunn, Allen and Stephanie Pouncey, Kelly Pouncey, David Justin and Christina Pouncey, Joseph Brandon Pouncey, William Ryan Pouncey Ginger and Josh Hallmark, and Wes and Devan Grayson, 19 great grandchildren, several nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by his parents Albert and Minnie Pouncey, a grandson Brad Ward, brothers and sisters-in-law William and Lula Mae Pouncey, Ralph Pouncey, and Jimmy Lewis and Hazel Pouncey, brother-in-law Earl Williford and a son-in-law Blair Grayson.
Active pallbearers will be Brandon Pouncey, Ryan Pouncey, Justin Pouncey, Terry Pouncey, Allen Pouncey, Stephen Hester and Jonathan Dunn.
Honorary pallbearers will be the Deacons and the Men’s No. 6 Sunday School Class of the Southside Baptist church in Troy.
