Funeral services for Eva L. “Bunch” Foreman White, 67, who died Feb. 6, 2009, will be at 1 p.m. Saturday, Feb. 14, at the Brundidge High School Gymnasium with the Rev. Thomas E. Shipman officiating.
Services are under the direction of Coleman Funeral Home.
She was born Nov. 2, 1941, in Springhill, the daughter of the late Sam W. Foreman and Annie M. Smith Davenport.
At an early age, she joined the Holly Spring Missionary Baptist Church in Springhill, where she was baptized. She attended the Holly Spring School and later transferred to the White Water School until the sixth grade. She attended the Pike County Training School during her high school years.
She married the late Rev. W.C. (Bob) White on OCt. 24, 1958, and their were the parents of 11 children. She united with teh White Water Missionary Baptist Church with her husband. She worked faithfully wherever her services were needed in the church and she loved her church family. She served as first lady from 2000 until the Rev. White was carried home to be the with the Lord in 2005. She worked for several years at Fruit of the Loom in Brundidge. Later she worked with Bruno’s Food World,in the deli, where she touched a lot of hearts through their stomachs. She took just as much care preparing meals for her customers as she did for her family. Later she retired and spent more time enjoying her family and friends, whom she loved dearly. She is preceded in death by three children and two brothers, Joel and Harvey Davenport.
Survivors include her children and their spouses, Sherrie Jones (Mark Sr.) of Enterprise, the Rev. Terrial “Bobby” White (Minister Stephanas) of Dothan, Ricky White (Deliah) of Montgomery, Willie Fox White Sr. (Shandalyn), Aretha Bean, Minister Sophia Kelly, the Rev. Christopher White (Kimberly) and Adrian White, all of Troy, Minister Bonita Dix (Earl Sr.) of Killeen, Texas, and Tiffany Dunn of Indianapolis; two special sons, Aaron M. Kelly and Jerome Bean; 23 grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; six sisters, Mamie Foreman and Princess Forman of Troy, Ann Maybin Lewis of Detroit, Carrie Davenport Russell of Atlanta, Juretha Lewis (Grant) of Troy, and Betty Davenport Jones of Atlanta; one brother, James Davenport (Frances) of Troy; five brothers-in-law, Thomas White Sr. (Arie), Alex White Sr. of Troy, Tommie L. White (Catherine) of Cincinnati, Freeman Lee of Quincy, Fla., and Morris Mitchell of Cincinatti; and five sisters-in-law, Mary F. Coleman, Katie P. White, Eloise White and Minister Willie E. White, all of Troy, and Fannie P. White of Nyack, N.Y.
