Council approves recreation uniform contract

A bid for at two-year contract for Troy Recreation Department uniforms was approved at the council meeting last night.

Eight businesses submitted bids for youth league baseball and softball uniforms.

Trojan Graphics, who was the lowest bidder, submitted a bid for $4.49 for adult-sized uniforms and $4.39 child-sized uniforms for combined bid total of $8.88.

Dan Smith, Parks and Recreation director recommended it be approved.

Council President John Witherington asked Smith to check up on customer service issues to ensure the process time is timely and doesn’t cause delay.

Council member Charles Meeks reminded everyone that District 2 was having a special clean up campaign during February if any of his constituents who needed large stumps, appliances and such, the Public Works department would be available by appointment.

Several appointments were made to the Board of Adjustments.

William Wright and E.M. Motes Jr. were reappointed to the Board of Adjustments, and Perry Green was appointed to the supernumerary position on the Board of Adjustments.

In other business, the board voted to approve the municipal water pollution prevention program, which is an annual water pollution report that is submitted to the Department of Environmental Management.

The council also voted to approve a resolution for the agreement between the Pike County Area Transit and the Nutrition Center to provide transportation services for the center.
