Three Troy residents were arrested and are facing significant drug charges after incidents that took place last week.

Brandon Johnson, 23 of Troy, was arrested Thursday after deputies allegedly found a meth lab in his home on County Road 2225, said Pike County Sheriff Russell Thomas.

“The deputies went to his residence to serve two warrants for distribution of controlled substance,” Thomas said. “Upon making the arrest, they found him to be in possession of meth.”

Thomas said deputies obtained a search warrant, and they found a working meth lab in his home.

Separate containers holding iodine crystals, meth oil and the finished meth product were taken from Johnson’s home, Thomas said.

In addition, an outside video camera surveillance system with two outside cameras, an inside home monitor and a scanner used to transmit law enforcement frequencies was obtained by the department.

Johnson was transported to the Pike County Jail, where he faces charges of possession of marijuana second degree, possession of meth and two counts of manufacturing and unlawful distribution.

He remains in jail, where his bond has been set at $81,000.

Since Johnson was already out on bond for previous drug charges, Thomas said the Pike County District Attorney has requested Johnson’s bond be revoked.

Troy Police Department narcotics officers assisted the sheriff’s department in making this arrest.

In a separate drug-related incident, Johnny B. Allen, 26, and Mary Allen, 24, were arrested Wednesday for allegedly using cocaine in their home with three small children.

The couple, both of Troy, face charges of possession of marijuana second degree and possession of drug paraphernalia after deputies found a razor blade, pipe and a brillo pad used for inhaling or smoking cocaine.

The three children, Thomas said, were all less than six years of age.

They were taken into the custody of the Department of Human Resources and then released to the custody of their grandparents.

The Allens have been released from jail on bond.

A Pike County man will face trial this week for allegedly sexually abusing a three-year-old child.

Kerry Charles Lee, 36, will be tried in the Pike County Courthouse Tuesday on charges of sexual abuse first degree, which is a crime against a victim less than 12 years of age.

“Our allegations are that at the end of August 2007, we contend Kerry Charles Lee did subject a three-year-old to sexual contact in Pike County, Alabama,” Lee said.

Pike County Assistant District Attorney Sheryll Harrison will try the case for the state on Tuesday, and Lee will be represented by attorney Bill Kominos.

McAliley said the prosecution has medical personnel who will testify in the court.
