Mr. Moses Barrow, age 77, was born on March 25, 1931 to the late Mr. Moses and Florence Barrow.
He departed this life peacefully at his home on Saturday, January 31, 2009.
He confessed Christ at an early age and joined Shady Grove Baptist Church and later joined First Missionary Baptist Church under the leadership of Rev. George G. Gilchrist.
He leaves not to mourn but to rejoice in his new life his wife, Jessie B. Barrow, Troy, AL; 9 children and spouses: Wendy (Alvin) Crawford, Ackworth, GA; Moses (Geraldine) Barrow III, Spring Lake, NC; Margaret Barrow, Spring Lake, NC; Katherine Barrow, Spring Lake, NC; Howard (Jessica) Barrow, Raeford, NC; James (Sherri) Barrow, Irvington, NJ ; Connie Lee (Anthony) Walker, Irvington, NJ; Tyrone Scott Barrow, Troy, AL; Ricky Allen Barrow, Troy AL; 5 step-children: his sister Ethel Shipman of Troy, AL; 25 grandchildren; 32 great-grandchildren, 2 great-great grandchildren, nieces, nephews, great nieces, great nephews and other relatives and friends.
Moses Barrow was preceded in death by 3 brothers, A.C. Barrow, Ardine Barrow, and Henry Barrow, 2 sisters, Brazell Jones and Vannie Mae Barrow and a grandchild, Rodrick Barrow.
He was a member of the First Missionary Baptist Church of Troy and the Myrtle Lodge # 162, Troy, Alabama.
Funeral services for Moses Barrow will be held at 1:00 p.m. Wednesday, February 4, 2009 at First Missionary Baptist Church in Troy with Rev. George G. Gilchrist officiating.
He will lie in state from 12-1 p.m. at the church one hour prior to the service.
Burial will follow in Shady Grove Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery in Troy under the direction of Skeen Funeral Home of Troy.
Visitation for Moses Barrow will be held from 6-8 p.m. Tuesday, February 3, 2009 at Skeen Funeral Home in Troy.
