Three were transported to the Troy Regional Medical Center after a wreck occurred late Monday afternoon on U.S. 231.

State Trooper Jeremy Burkett said a collision occurred when a Buick heading south on 231 collided with the rear end of a Mazda 626 turning into the Sun Trace Trailer Park off the highway.

Burkett did not have names of those involved in the accident at the time and did not return calls from The Messenger Monday night.

He said he believed one of those transported was critically injured, but he wasn’t aware of the extent.

The incident remains under investigation by the Alabama State Troopers.

Troy Police, Care Ambulance and the Troy Fire Department also responded to the scene.
