Pike Liberal took out their frustrations from a 62-60 double overtime loss Monday night on the Macon-East Lady Knights Tuesday night in Troy.
The No. 6 Lady Patriots (7-7, 3-3 AISA Class AAA, Region 1) took out the area rival 52-25 behind a dominant performance from Eady Pinckard. Pinckard recorded a double-double with 21 points and 17 rebounds and also grabbed five steals.
“Eady had an incredible game for us tonight,” PLAS head coach Steven Kilcrease said. “She had a double-double at halftime and she was great out there for us.”
Kilcrease said the Lady Patriots needed the win.
“We needed a win like this for confidence if nothing else,” Kilcrease said. “I thought we played great defense and we moved the basketball as well as we have in two years. We had some great passes.”
The Lady Patriots hauled in 47 rebounds as a team and Kilcrease was able to get all his players in the game with a 31-11 lead at halftime.
Katie Wiggins had eight points and eight rebounds and Rebecca Farrar and Josie Griffin each added seven points in the victory.
The PLAS JV girls lost Tuesday night.
Next up for the Lady Patriots is a home game against the No. 2 Glenwood Lady Gators Friday. Tip off is scheduled for 3:30 p.m. beginning with the JV girls’ game.
