With the New Year already 11 days old, it’s time to begin thinking Mardi Gras.
The seventh annual Mardi Gras Ball to benefit the Colley Senior Complex is set for Feb. 21 at the Cattleman Park.
“The Mardi Gras Ball has become a much anticipated event in our community,” said Janet Motes, Colley Senior Complex director. “The Mardi Gras Ball is our largest fundraiser. The funds that are raised by the ball make up more than 70 percent of our annual budget. So, we encourage everyone to join us on Feb. 21 for a night of food, fun and dancing as we celebrate the Mardi Gras season.”
Krewes are organized among friends and the groups find creative ways to raise money to benefit the seniors’ programs.
The krewes’ contributions are a large part of the fundraising effort.
Tickets for the Mardi Gras Ball will be available beginning Jan. 19 at the Colley Senior Complex at 715 Elm Street in Troy.
Tickets may be reserved by calling 334-808-8500.
“We have only a limited number of general admission tickets available this year so it’s a good idea to reserve your tickets early,” Motes said.
General admission tickets are $50 per person. Reserved tickets (krewe tickets) are $100 each.
“We want to thank the community for its support of the Colley Senior Complex,” Motes said. “We serve more than 1,800 seniors each month in 120 different classes and programs. The mission of the Colley Senior Complex is to provide comprehensive, quality programs tailored to meet the needs of adults ages 50 and older.
“Through our programs, we have seen many lives changed for the better. The Colley Senior Complex provides an atmosphere where senior adults can live, learn and laugh together.
