PLAS drops in poll

Despite dropping four of their previous five games, the Pike Liberal Arts School Lady Patriots remained in the Alabama Sports Writers Association AISA Top-10 this week.
The Lady Patriots lost to No. 4 Lakeside before Christmas, No. 3 Sparta and a team from Georgia in the Huntingdon College Christmas Tournament and No. 1 Lee-Scott Tuesday.
They did take down No. 8 Patrician in the Huntingdon tournament in their only victory since the last poll.
The losses dropped Pike Liberal (6-6) from No. 5 to No. 6 in the poll.
On the flip side, two of the team’s six victories were over Top-10 opponents.
The road does not get any easier for the Lady Patriots, as they have two area games against No. 2 Glenwood left on the schedule. They also host No. 4 Lakeside Monday.
