Late trey downs GHS

A deep three-pointer at the buzzer was all that stood between the Goshen Eagles and overtime Thursday night in Highland Home. GHS lost to the Flying Squadron 53-50 on a last second trey.

“It was a very good game for us and I was proud of how my guys played out there,” GHS head coach Jonathan Deveridge said. “They played hard and it was one of the better games we have played this season.”

Deveridge said the loss was a good learning experience for the Eagles (2-9, 0-2 AHSAA Class 2A, Area 5).

Deveridge said he was proud with how his team responded when senior Tyrese Wingard got into foul trouble.

“We had four guys in double figures and that was great to see,” he said.

Antwan Boswell led the way with 17 points for Goshen and Kawon Pritchett, Reginald Foster and Justin Senn each chipped in 10 points.

The Goshen Lady Eagles (3-3, 2-0) took down Highland Home in a blowout, 42-16. The B team boys lost 35-20.
