The Troy University women’s basketball team’s defensive play has led them to a three-game win streak and the Trojans will look to stretch it to four tonight in Trojan Arena against the FAU Owls.

“Our team defense has been great recently,” Troy head coach Michael Murphy said. “Our defense fuels our offense and it has been providing some opportunities in transition for our team.”

Troy (6-7, 1-2 Sun Belt) and the Owls (4-8, 1-1) tip off at 7 p.m. and Murphy said his team needs to continue to built the momentum they have built as the team enters the meat of the conference schedule.

“If you want to host a game in the first round of the tournament you have to take care of business at home,” Murphy said. “And we are now focused on FAU because that is the next game on our schedule.”

The Trojans opened their 2008-09 campaign with nine of 13 contests on the road and Murphy said it is glad to be back home.

“Our stretch of road games was stout,” he said. “And now we just have to keep winning to keep our confidence up.”
