Madge Lucille “Powell” Gibson, age 89, a resident of Milton, Fla., formerly of Troy, died Saturday, Jan. 3, 2009 in a Milton, Fla. Hospital. Funeral services will be held Thursday, Jan. 8, 2009 at 2:00 p.m. from the chapel of Dillard Funeral Home with the Reverend Lloyd Hodge officiating. Interment will follow in the Old Lebanon Cemetery with Dillard Funeral Home of Troy directing. Visitation will be held Thursday, Jan. 8, 2009 from 1 p.m. until 2 p.m. at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy.
Mrs. Gibson is survived by her son, Larry Gibson and wife Kathy of Milton; three grandchildren, “Allen” Gibson and wife Liz of Milton, “Leigh” Brooks and husband Bennie of Spanish Fort and Rachel McLeod and husband Paul of Milton; seven great-grandchildren Kayleigh and Aaron Gibson; Austin and Parker Brooks; Madison, Kendall and Ansley McLeod; one sister Nell Culver of Montgomery and numerous nieces and nephews.
Honorary Pallbearers will be Aley Jeffcoat, Pat Anderson, Bobbie Jean Jones and Wayne Henry.
Madge worked many years with Food Town and Troy Hospital.
