Reynolds Rushing

Mr. Reynolds Randolph Rushing, age 70 of Troy passed away Saturday, December 13, 2008 after a long, courageous battle with cancer. He has gone home to be with the Lord and to be reunited with his beloved wife, Carolyn, in heaven.
Mr. Rushing was born and grew up in the Ansley community. Reynolds and Carolyn were married on July 30, 1963 and built a loving home on the same land where he grew up. There they raised 5 children. Reynolds continued to farm for many years. He also continued his family’s tradition of music. He was very well known across the south for his fiddle playing ability. He will forever be known to many as the best fiddle player ever.
Mr. Rushing was born April 23, 1938, to the late John Mack and Eula Lee Rushing. He was preceded in death by his wife Carolyn on November 4, 2004, his sisters Shirley Renfroe, Maye Graves, and Sara Barker, his brothers Mitchell, Carter, James and Frank Rushing, and two infant children.
He is survived by 5 children and their spouses Teresa and Adam Register, John Mack and Belinda Rushing, Randy and Lynn Rushing, Missy and Steve Barron and Jason Rushing, and all of Troy, 3 sisters and brothers-in-law Mary and Grady Motes of Troy, Emily Redmon of Columbus, and Margaret and Richard Swattzel of Birmingham, a brother and sister-in-law John Henry and Rose Rushing of Kingsport, TN., brothers-in-law and sisters-in-law Thelma and Harry Holley of Luverne, and Betty and C.J. Faulk of Honoraville, 15 Grandchildren Hunter, Ethan, Carter and Bayli Register, Noel, Haley and Mitchell Rushing, Austin and Tyler Rushing, Kimberly Donaldson, Clay, Trevor, Luke and Alissa Barron, and Jaci Rushing all of Troy, Several Nieces and Nephews.
Funeral Services will be held Wednesday, December 17, 2008 at 2:00 p.m. from the Chapel of Dillard Funeral Home in Troy. Burial will follow in the Hales Chapel Cemetery.
Visitation will be held Tuesday, December 16, 2008 from 5:00 p.m. until 8:00 p.m. at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy.
Active pallbearers will be Cecil Graves, Robert Motes, Stanley Holley, John Mack Rushing, Randy Rushing, and Jason Rushing.
Honorary Pallbearers will be C.J. Faulk, Kreg Rhodes, Jimmy Davis, Newton Campbell, Rex Locklar, Russell Johnson, Harry Holley, Kevin Stephens, Christopher Campbell, Jerry Lewis, Brady Dunn, Kenny Campbell, Preston Franklin, Adam Register, Grady Motes, and Dr. Steve Barron.
