The Charles Henderson Trojans ran out of gas a day after scoring their first win of the season. The Trojans (1-1) lost 57-52 at the hands of Abbeville on the road in a game they led by 10 at halftime.

“We just ran out of gas,” Hollis said. “We lost from the free throw line. We went to the free throw line 15 times and made two of them. And we had 23 turnovers. That is what killed us.”

Hollis said as a team the Trojans progressed in how they played, but they just couldn’t finish the game.

“We played a super first half and especially the first quarter,” Hollis said. “But we didn’t shoot how we are capable of shooting in the second half. We were outhustled tonight.”

Hollis said the team would move on and work on getting better.

“We will play tomorrow in the tournament against Bullock County, take Thanksgiving off and then focus on Jefferson Davis, who is a very good team,” Hollis said.

Troy faces Bullock County today at 1:30 p.m. in the Enterprise High School Tournament at Enterprise-Ozark Community College.
