Jerry Peak, museum director, said the partnership is beneficial to both because the museum will furnish the space and the Post 70 will furnish the labor. Together they will offer an early shopping opportunity right here at home.

“The Holiday Craft Fair is an opportunity to start your shopping early and find those unique craft items that are just right for those on your shopping list,” Peak said. “We expect to have about 15 vendors and a variety of homemade items.”

The list includes pottery, children’s clothing, silver and beaded jewelry, purses, stuffed animals, pillowcase dress, fleece blankets, reversible dresses, towels and lots more.”

The Holiday Craft Fair will be held on the museum grounds, which make a great backdrop for the fair. However, if the weather does not cooperate, Peak said the fair will be held inside the museum. “There is no charge for the Holiday Craft Fair unless we have to move it indoors,” Peak said. “Then, we’ll charge half-price admission.”

And, that will be a good deal.

“You’ll get to attend the Holiday Craft Fair and visit the museum at a reduced rate,” Peak said. Regular admission to the Pioneer Museum of Alabama is $6 for adults, $5 for seniors and $4.
