Troy University students and alumni will celebrate Homecoming tomorrow with a day of festivities.

All the community is invited to participate in the day’s activities Saturday, as the Troy Trojans take on the Western Kentucky Hilltoppers.

“We’re asking all the community to come out and support Homecoming and all the festivities,” said Vice President of Campus Affairs Staci Davis.

Early morning runners can kick off the day with a 7 a.m. “Road Runners” Homecoming Fun Run.

And for others who want to get the day started a little later, the Homecoming parade will journey through downtown Troy, as local residents line the streets in support.

At 11 a.m. tailgating will begin on Tailgate Terrace, followed by the Trojan Walk at 12:15 p.m.

“Events don’t end after the parade. The Trojan Walk is at 12:15, and we would like all fans to come show their Trojan pride as they cheer the football team to a victory,” Davis said.

The game kicks off at 2:30 p.m., but before that the Homecoming Court will be introduced.

For those who aren’t ready for the day to end, a step show will be held at 7 p.m. at Claudia Crosby Theater.

Aside from the activities of Homecoming Day, Troy students have been getting in the spirit all week.

Various campus organizations have participated in banner, skit and dance competitions throughout the week.

“Homecoming week has gone great,” said Homecoming Director Amy Kelley. “All the organizations have shown a lot of spirit and Trojan pride.”

Each competition’s winners have already been announced, but Kelley said the overall winner of Homecoming will be announced at the football game Saturday.

“We hope everyone can come out and support us,” Kelley said.
