A new subdivision coming to Henderson Highway in Troy aims to provide attractive housing at an affordable price.

The Ponds, being built by Henderson Highway Development L.L.C., is expected to offer homes ranging from $100,000 to $125,000.

The time is right for an affordable housing alternative in Troy, said Todd Kries, a Realtor with Remax Action Realty.

“They are more reasonably priced homes in a nice area,” Kreis said.

The Ponds has 18 lots sized 100 feet by 200 feet. Homes will be about 1,100 square feet and should be priced at around $100 a square foot.

“Most homes in Troy are going for about $115 to $125 a square foot,” Kreis said.

Homes in The Ponds will be three bedroom and two bath and will be furnished with a stove, refrigerator and dishwasher.

The subdivision is in Troy city limits but still offers a scenic, rural backdrop.

“Everybody will have a nice view,” Kries said.

The first home in The Ponds is under construction now and is about six weeks away from completion, Kries said.

Remax is selling lots in subdivision pond or will custom build.
