Spooky night of golf

The Troy Country Club will become a spooky place Nov. 1 when the 2009 Leadership Pike class hosts a Haunted Night Golf Extravaganza and Costume Party the day after Halloween.

The event will include golf and a Halloween-themed costume party beginning at 8 p.m. with a DJ. The night of ghostly fun is a fundraiser for all the Pike County area high schools.

“We want to raise money for all the local high schools,” class president Justin Abercrombie said. “And we wanted to make the fundraiser something fun that everyone can be a part of.”

Abercrombie said the golf is not going to be a competitive style. It will be a shotgun start at 6 p.m. and the country club will be lit up for the tournament.

Golf registration is $100 per player and that includes the costume party afterwards. Tickets for those interested in only the party are $25.

“We invite everyone to come out and have a good time and raise some money for the local high schools,” Abercrombie said.
