Big Brothers, Big Sisters host golf tourney

Big Brothers and Big Sisters of Pike County hosted its annual golf tournament at the Troy Country Club yesterday.

“This is our major fundraiser,” Big Brothers and Big Sisters Activities Coordinator Melinda Conner said. “We’re a mentoring agency that provides mentors for children in our organization.”

Conner said the tournament was a big success, and participants can mark their calendars for October 12th next year to do it again.

The tournament gave away door prizes and prize packages to the winners.

Mickey DiChiara, Seth Goree, Warren Kelly and Derrick Bracewell took the top spot in the tournament.

“This is all for a good cause and that’s what counts,” Kelly said. “Everybody that participated today is a winner.”

The second place team was Paul Hudson, Tony Hudson, Jim Jackson and Bill Jackson.

Finishing third was Bob and Dianne Mills and Chad and Melissa Yarbrough.

Conner said the organization is always is need of any and all volunteers. Anyone interested should call 566-2454.
