Funeral services for Cora Lean (Kent) May will be held on Saturday, October 11, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. at Rock Elvy Missionary Baptist Church, Shady Grove, Alabama, with Reverend Raymond Franklin officiating and George F. Grubbs Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be Friday, October 10, 2008 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at George F. Grubbs Funeral Home. Burial will follow the funeral service at Rock Elvy Missionary Baptist Church Cemetery.
Mrs. Cora Lean Kent Maywas born in Pike County on August 29, 1945 to the late Cora Lee Kent and Dazell Blair. She joined the Rock Elvy Baptist Church at an early age. She was a faithful member until her health failed.
She departed her life on October 2, 2008 at her residence. She was preceded in death by her father, mother, several brothers and sisters, and her husband, Roger Lee May, and daughter, Miranda L. May. She leaves to cherish her memories: two daughters, Shenita (Willie) Kent, Luverne, AL, and Alison (Daniel) Harris, Grady, AL; one God-son, Jovarius Toles, Grady, AL; four sisters, Catherine Colvin, Essie (Willie Frank) Baldwin, Alean (Joel) Toles, all of Grady, AL, and Manuervia Sledge, Birmingham, AL; three brothers, Willie (Bridget) Baldwin, Dexter (Lesia) Baldwin, all of Grady, AL, and Timothy Blair, Birmingham, AL; three sister-in-laws, Doris Cook, Grady, AL, Lucille (Willie) Osborne, Letohatchee, AL, and Joyce (J. W.) McGhee, Luverne, AL; one brother-in-law, Levi May, Grady, AL; five grandchildren, Tamica Harris, Luverne, AL, Chavona Harris, Troy, AL, Brasmon Harris, Grady, AL, Donald Kent, Columbus, GA, and Lakrecia Bradberry, Luverne, AL; one great-grandson, Zemarion Flowers, Luverne, AL; one special aunt, Lucy Mae Jones, Montgomery, AL; two devoted friends, Gladys Berry and Nabrish Skeans; and a host of aunts, nieces, nephews, cousins, other relatives and friends.
