Funeral services for Renea Shonta Walker will be held on Friday, October 10, 2008 at 11:00 a.m. At First Missionary Baptist Church, Troy, Alabama, with Reverend George Gilchrist officiating and George F. Grubbs Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be Thursday, October 9, 2008 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at George F. Grubbs Funeral Home. Burial will follow the funeral service at
Carroll Street Cemetery, Troy, Alabama. Ms. Renea Shonta Walker was born on December 24, 1984 in Troy, Alabama to Ms. Kimela Tracy Walker and Derek Bailey.
At an early age, she joined First Missionary Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Goshen High School.
After a long fight with her illness, she departed this life on Friday, October 3, 2008.
She was preceded in death by her greatgrandmother, Lucy Mae King, her grandmother, Mary King, and two sisters, Gwendolyn Gillis and Shalondra Walker.
She leaves to cherish her memories: a very loving and devoted mother, Kimela Tracy Walker of Troy, Alabama; her father, Derek Bailey of Tuskegee, Alabama; one brother, Elijah Walker; her devoted aunts, Pamela (Kevin) Alloway and Mary Walker, both of Troy, Alabama; a loving uncle, William (Yolanda) Walker of Troy, Alabama; a loving and caring adopted grandmother, Mrs. Mattie Powell; a d evoted and loving fiance, Tino Thomas; very special friends, Andrea (Keisha) Finney and Shelisha Crawford; and a host of cousins, great aunts, great uncles, other relatives and special friends.
