Funeral services for Eva Mae Adams will be held on Saturday, September 27, 2008 at 1:00 p.m. at Mt. Olive #2 Baptist Church, Banks, Alabama, with Pastor Edward Knight officiating and George F. Grubbs Funeral Home directing. Visitation will be Friday, September 26, 2008 from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at George F. Grubbs Funeral Home. Burial will follow the funeral service at Community Cemetery, Brundidge, Alabama. Eva Mae Adams was born the third child of the late Linton Coleman and the late Eva Lou Diggs Coleman on April 15, 1928.
She received Christ at an early age and joined Mt. Olive #2 Baptist Church.She met and married the late Sam Adams, Sr. and to this union fifteen children were born. She was preceded in death by four children, Theotis Adams, one brother, Leroy Coleman, two sisters, Mary Rushing and Sarah Nelson, one grandson, Deshawne Brown, and one great-granddaughter, Princess “Emya” Rodgers.
She leaves to cherish her memories: six sons, Robert Adams (Maurene), Sam Adams, Jr. (Charlene), Kilroy Adams (Lucille), James Frank Adams, James Otis Adams (Sandra), and Dawn Terry Adams (Stephanie); seven daughters, Clara Wheeler, Lillie Flournoy (Willie), Eva Jones (Phil), Debbie Adams, Minnie Adams, Alma Turner (Calvin), and Dorothy Martin (Richard); her Godchildren, James Earl Coleman (Anease), Jerry Lee Coleman (Joanne), Otis Pennywell (Gwen), and Altha Mae Johnson; her sisters, Cordie Thompson (Karo), Mary Alice Thomas, Mittie Luke (George), and Willie Mae Staples (Marsha); seventy-five grandchildren; one hundred great- grandchildren; one great- greatgrandchild; special friends, Jeffrey Dixon, Earnest Pearson and Eva Mae Williams; and a host of nieces, nephews, other relatives and other friends.
