Teams look to move forward after tough week

Last week was a tough week for the Pike County area, as four of the five area football teams took a loss.

The Troy Trojans suffered a heartbreaking loss to the No. 13 Ohio State Buckeyes on the road. Troy kept the game close for three quarters, but Terelle Pryor and the Buckeyes scored four touchdowns to down Troy 28-10.

The then ranked No. 3 Charles Henderson Trojans fell to Valley on the road in a huge upset, knocking them from the ASWA rankings.

The then No. 7 Bulldogs of Pike County suffered a tough loss as well. They were stunned by Valley at home to also drop out of the ASWA rankings for week four.

The Goshen Eagles suffered a home loss last week as well to drop to 1-3 on the season.

This weekend in football was also bad for Nascone’s Predictions, as I went 2-3 on the weekend. The season record is now at 10-3.

I even got the score half right for the Troy game.

I thought Ohio State would win 28-24, but I was nowhere close with the Pike Lib final.

This week should prove to be another tough week for the Trojans of Charles Henderson and the Eagles of Goshen.

First up, the Trojans will look to show they deserve to be back in the ASWA Top 10 against the Theodore Bobcats in Movie Gallery Veterans Stadium Friday night.

The Trojans have home field advantage and that is huge in high school football.

I see the Trojans coming away with a 31-24 victory over the 6A 3-1 Bobcats.

Pike County’s Bulldogs host Goshen and this one won’t be pretty. The Bulldogs will rebound from last week’s stunner with a 38-14 victory.

The Pike Lib Patriots host Taylor Road for Homecoming this Friday and they will win easily as well, to the tune of 41-20.
