Rick Shackelford of Troy was shot and killed in his home by Pike County deputies on Friday, September 5, 2008. Rick was 47 years old and loved to hunt and fish. He adored his nieces and nephews and all his true friends children. He will be greatly missed by his family and friends. Rick Shackelford was born June 26, 1961 and was a carpenter. Funeral services for Rick Shackelford was held at 11:30 A.M. Monday, September 8, 2008 at Bethlehem Baptist Church with Rev. Mark Stephens officiating. Burial will follow in Bethlehem Cemetery under the direction of Skeen Funeral Home in Brundidge. Visitation for Rick Shackelford was held from 6-8 P.M. Sunday, September 7, 2008 at Skeen Funeral Home in Brundidge. He is survived by his father and mother: John Waylon and Jeretha Shackelford, Brundidge; brother: Greg Shackelford, Brundidge; sister: Sherry Shackelford, Brundidge; 11 nieces and nephews; 1 uncle and spouse; 3 aunts and spouses. Serving as pallbearers will be Moses Davenport, Jonathan Snead, Sandy Snead, Nathan Snead, Joshua Snead, Timmy Keel, Wiley Bryant and David Stallings. There will be a host of honorary pallbearers and friends.
