Several of the athletes who compete on the Charles Henderson track team also made key contributions to the Trojans’

other athletic programs.

Jawara White, LaDarius Sanchez, Jonathan Moultry, Svante Davenport, Terrence Jackson and Justin Baker, Zeb Swindall, Zay Pelton and LaQuintez Reynolds

have all played either varsity football or basketball for the Trojans this season.

White, a sophomore, is using his experience in track to increase his speed for football next season.

A day after the Trojans finished the 2007 AHSAA football playoffs with a loss in the quarterfinals, White and freshman quarterback Corey Dennis began running, throwing and lifting weights together – on their own.

&uot; That’s a mark of dedication,&uot; Charles Henderson football coach Hugh Fountain said.

Jackson will use his speed in many events, coaches say. He won’t compete in discus or shot-put due to the number of events in which he’s competing.

The meet starts Friday at the track on the Troy University campus.
