Margaret Eloise Nichols

Graveside services for Margaret Eloise Nichols, 82, of Tallassee, formerly of Troy, who died on July 5, 2007, at East Alabama Medical Center in Opelika, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Good Hope Baptist Church Cemetery in Troy with the Rev. W.O. Sanders and the Rev. Wayne Locklar officiating and Skeen Funeral Home of Troy directing.

Visitation will be from 10 until 11 a.m. Monday at Good Hope Baptist Church.

Mrs. Nichols was born Oct. 7, 1924, in Pike County to William Campbell and Dora Dean Seigler Campbell. She was a homemaker.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband, Albert C. Nichols; brothers, Newt Campbell, Everis Campbell, Thomas Campbell and Gene Campbell; and sisters, Estell Grimes and Lucille Rich.

Survivors include a son and daughter-in-law, Julius Donald (Diana) Nichols of Tallassee; daughter and son-in-law, Marie Ledbetter (Felix) Cleghorn of Tallassee; nine grandchildren; 18 great-grandchildren; two great-great-grandchildren; a sister, Eva McLelland of Jacksonville, Fla.; and many nieces and nephews.

Pallbearers will be Patrick Ledbetter, Chris Ledbetter, Danny Nichols, Kevin Ledbetter, C.J. Ledbetter and Jeff Ledbetter.

Honorary pallbearers will be members of the Eastern Star of Troy.

Donald Wade Stewart

Services for Donald Wade Stewart, 75, of Troy who died Thursday, July 5, 2007, at Enterprise Nursing Home were at 3 p.m. Saturday, July 7, 2007, at Skeen Funeral Home Chapel in Troy with the Revs. Neal Jackson and Frank Lowery officiating.

Burial was in Spring Hill Cemetery under the direction of Skeen Funeral Home of Troy with full military rights by Charlie's Angels.

Visitation was from 1 until 3 p.m. Saturday at the funeral home.

Mr. Stewart was born Nov. 7, 1931, in Pike County. He attended college for two years and was a retired electrical contractor.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Bob W. Stewart and Elma Grisitte Stewart; great-grandson, Samuel Williams; two granddaughters, Aimee Stewart and Keesha Vessell; brother, Robert; and a sister, Lamae.

Survivors include his wife, Winnie Stewart of Troy; three sons, Dean Stewart of Moultrie, Ga., Dale Stewart of Elba and Jeff Stewart of Savannah, Ga.; daughter, Diann Alford of Newnan, Ga.; seven grandchildren, Kayse Williams, Kerri Redding, Kelly Wheatley, Josh Stewart, Paul Stewart, Jessica Stewart and Crystal Mogilinedi; 13 great-grandchildren; two brothers, Randy Stewart of Merced, Ca. and Michael Stewart of Pensacola, Fla.; five sisters, Hazel Summers of Chipley, Fla., Judy Burchfield of Opp, Gilberitta Jackson of Troy, Ina Kate Mitchell of Troy and Elma Jean Carr of Andalusia.

Pallbearers will be Brian Williams, Brian Redding, Josh Stewart, Paul Stewart, Keith Mitchell and Kim Mitchell.

Mamie Jewel Lampley

Services for Mamie Jewel Lampley, 78, of Troy, who died at Troy Health and Rehabilitation Center was at 11 a.m. July 7, 2007, at Lilly Hill Baptist Church in Brundidge with the Rev. John Ford officiating.

Burial will be in the church cemetery under the direction of Harrison Funeral Home of Troy.

Visitation was July 6 from noon until 5 p.m. at the funeral home.

Ms. Lampley was born Oct. 24, 1928, in Pike County. She attended and finished elementary and junior high school at Pea River School and was the retired nanny of three generations in New York and New Jersey.

Ms. Lampley was affiliated with Lilly Hill Baptist Church, Troy Travelers Clubs and Concerned Citizens. She enjoyed reading, traveling, cooking and all sports.

She was preceded in death by her parents, Washington and Johnnie Mae Crews.
