Doris Parker Richardson

Doris Parker Richardson, 93, of Troy died in Auburn Wednesday, July 25, 2007. Visitation was held at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy on Saturday, July 28, 2007, from 6 until 8 p.m.

The funeral service will be held at Dillard Funeral Home Chapel in Troy on Sunday, July 29, 2007, at 2 p.m. with the Rev. Mallone Chandler officiating. Burial will follow at Ramah Cemetery in Josie.

The family requests that memorials be made to Bethany House or Lighthouse Hospice.

Survivors include three sons, Ed (Nell) Richardson of Auburn, David (Karen) Richardson of Banks and Larry (Danita) Richardson; brother, Van (Ellen) Parker of Alta, Iowa; six grandchildren; 11 great-grandchildren; sisters-in-law, Judy Shiver, Bernice Thomas, Irene Richardson and Estelle Richardson; brothers-in-law, Brooks Richardson and Max Shiver.

Mrs. Richardson was preceded in death by her husband, Edward Huron &uot;Rich&uot; Richardson; grandson, Greg Richardson; brother and sister-in-law, Robert and Tillie Parker; and a sister, Marjorie Parker.

Mrs. Richardson was a longtime member of the Ramah Orderly Primitive Baptist Church. She was a graduate of Buenavista College. During her early life she was a school teacher in her home State of Iowa. After moving to Pike County in 1951, she worked in the Pike County School System as both a secretary and a bus driver.

Wendy Michelle White

Wendy Michelle White, 25, of Jack died Friday, July 27, 2007.

Funeral services will be held Sunday, July 29, 2007, at 4 p.m. from the Chapel of Dillard Funeral Home in Brundidge with the Rev. Rick Hayes officiating.

Burial will follow in the New Hope Cemetery with Dillard Funeral Home of Brundidge directing.

Visitation was held Saturday from 6 until 8 p.m. at the funeral home.

She is survived by her son, Caleb Nathan White; her parents, Ronny and Vickie Green of Montgomery; a sister, Valerie Green of Montgomery.

She also is survived by her grandparents, Dwight and Vivian Green of Montgomery and Robert and Ruth Garrett of Banks; her aunts, Julie (Steve) Downing, Faye Rhoden and Ginger Donaldson; an uncle, Ronnie (Cathy) Gregory; and

several cousins and other relatives.

She was preceded in death by her grandfather, the Rev. Billy Gregory, and her great-grandparents, Grady and Elizabeth English, Jack and Christine Goodwyne, Paul and Clara Mae Gregory, and Essie and Madie B. Green.

JoAnn Burden Davis

Funeral services for the Rev. JoAnn Burden Davis were at 11 a.m. Saturday at Outreach Endtime Deliverance Church of the Living God in Troy where Elder Mae Burden Crittenden is pastor and Bishop Minie Burden Penn officiated. Bishop W.C. Scott was host senior pastor.

Burial was in Carroll Street Cemetery with George F. Grubbs Funeral Home directing.

Mrs. Davis was born July 7, 1962, in Lousiville. She died on July 21, 2007, at UAB Hospital in Birmingham.

She was the fourth of eight children born to the late Deacon Joe Burden and Bishop Minnie Burden-Penn.

She was married to the late Eddie C. Davis.

Mrs. Davis was born in the Church of the Living God. She received the Holy Ghost at an early age and also accepted the call of the ministry.

During her youth, she traveled with the late chief overseer of the Church of the Living God, Bishop M.L. Jewell.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Eddie C. Davis; her father, Joe Burden Sr.; and two of her sisters, Allene Burden and Avosta Birdsong.

Mrs. Davis is survived by her two children, Tahsa Burden and Eddie Davis of Troy; one grandson, Dashawn Burden of Troy; her mother, Minnie Penn (Oliver) of Indianapolis, Ind.; four brothers, Zenas Burden of Indianapolis, Ind., Joe Burden Jr. of Troy, Gomer Burden of Montgomery and Gamaliel Penn (LeLana) of Indianapolis, Ind.; seven sisters, Mae Crittenden (Robert), pastors of Auburn, Minnie P. Cowart (Billy), Angela Starks (Pete), all of Troy, Winifred Sanders, Vanessa Standford (Roosevelt), all of Indianapolis, Ind., Jael Haygood of Houston, Texas, and Leah Townsend (Josiah) of Nebraska; a sister-in-law, Mary Robinson (Victor) of Troy; a brother-in-law, Jerry McKenzie (Sarah) of Troy; and a host of aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and other relatives and friends.

Honorary pallbearers are her brothers and her nephews. Active pallbearers and flower bearers are family and friends of the family.
