Charlotte Page Standley

Funeral services for Charlotte Page Standley, 95, who died in the comfort-care room of the Community Medical Center in Missoula, Mont., on Feb. 9, 2007, will be at 11 a.m. Monday at Dillard Funeral Home in Troy.

Visitation will be from 5 until 7 p.m. Sunday at the funeral home.

Mrs. Standley was born on Sept. 18, 1911, to Ammie and Lee Page of Samson. After moving to Opp, she finished high school in 1929. She received her bachelor's degree from Alabama College at Montevallo (now Montevallo University) in 1933. She taught home economics in Alabama high schools for six years. Upon moving to Troy in 1939, she began her career with the U.S. Department of Agriculture as a home economist, retiring in 1979. On Feb. 16, 1941, she was married to John Edward Standley who passed away in 1979. During her retirement she was involved in volunteer work and was an active member of First United Methodist Church of Troy. In 2000 she moved to Missoula, Mont., to be near her daughter and son-in-law, Charlotte and Charlie Oliver of Hamilton, Mont.

She was preceded in death by her husband, John Ed; her daughter, Jane Paquette; and her sister, Marguerite Wilkinson.

She is survived by her daughter, Charlotte Oliver (Charlie); her son-in-law, Joe Paquette; sisters, Frances Thompson (James), Josephine Dixon and Pat Page; six grandchildren; seven great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren;

and a number of nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made to the First United Methodist Church of Troy.

Eula D. Connor

Graveside services for Eula D. Connor, 97, formerly of Brundidge, who died Saturday, Feb. 17, 2007, at Troy Health and Rehabilitation Center, will be at 2 p.m. Sunday at the Mt. Zion Baptist Church Cemetery with the Rev. Gerald Wilkes officiating and Dillard Funeral Home of Brundidge directing.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Dan Connor.

She is survived by four daughters, Brice Sowell of Brundidge, Dot (Ramon) Zapata of Brundidge, Imogene (Clarence) Pilcher of Panama City and Theresa (Lenny) Trawick of Brundidge; sister-in-law, Carrie Daniels; and several grandchildren, great-grandchildren and great-great-grandchildren.
